The belly of the shaft is adorned with overlapping plate scales, while the sides each have a set of four raised nubs running from just below the head down to the start of the knot. A 2-lobe knot sits just before the base, with the plate scales running along the underside of the knot. The bottom of the knot connects to a flared, mounded base designed to and decorated with a scale texture to appear as a draconic vent.
