Hidora features a narrow, conical tip that flows directly into a curving shaft. The back of the shaft is decorated with a narrow, raised column of overlapping scales. The belly of the shaft is adorned with a rippled texture with a line of raised nubs on the inside of the curve in the shaft. The shaft connects to a mounded, flared base designed to appear as an aquatic vent.
